October is National Dental Hygiene Month. As a Dental CPA/Wealth Advisor, I am keenly aware of the importance of a strong hygiene program in a dental practice. So much so, that I wrote a series of articles on the subject for The Progressive Dentist Magazine.
In a previous blog post, Planning and the Importance of Collaboration I wrote about the importance of collaboration among professionals. My hygiene series, Running the Numbers, A Case Study in Hygiene, was an example of this. First and foremost I was fortunate to have Bonnie Hixson, publisher of The Progressive Dentist Magazine, interested in the topic. Secondly, there were the folks at Inspired Hygiene, Rachel Wall and Kimberly Miller, who helped me with information and live data from a mutual client for whom they had done their coaching program, and then there were other clients who gave me input from the dentist’s perspective.
Bonnie Hixson and her staff did a great job editing the series of four articles into the digital document that is easily shared. Further collaboration will culminate in a seminar on January 30th at the new Henry Schein facility in Dublin, California. Henry Schein and I are co-hosting Rachel Wall and Kimberly Miller who will be presenting “Doctor Discovery Day,” a course for dentists to learn how to maximize profits in their hygiene departments. Mark your calendars!
Another great example of collaboration is dental specialists providing Continuing Education for their referring doctors and their teams to help them improve their practices. What better way to do this than to offer a program like the one Inspired Hygiene is doing on January 30th? Everyone wins, and that is the beauty of collaboration in my view.
